We have a hardwood face veneer division, a specialty plywood division, and a retail wood products division.

We are currently seeking a Hardwood Veneer Grader to manually and mechanically perform final inspection, sort, and assign the finished grade to veneer panels in a manner which ensures optimum value and customer acceptance.

In this role, it is imperative that you can "think on your feet," inspecting veneer panels up to 4' x 8' and quickly and accurately identify what level of quality the panel is and move it to the correct pallet. A keen attention to detail and accuracy are the keys to success as a Hardwood Veneer Grader.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Learn and maintain a working knowledge of all veneer grades per management guidelines.
  • Pre-plan and coordinate proper line set up.
  • Visually examine and feel the surface of product to detect natural characteristics and/or manufacturing defects such as knots, splits, torn grain, etc.
  • Maximize all grade potential by taping splits, cutting out overlaps, and performing any additional repair.
  • Verify the product meets dimensional specifications.
  • Assign proper crate tags for individual grades and maintain crate and piling levels as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate daily production records.
  • Perform crate changes as needed and cooperate and assist forklift operators during all crate changes.
